Data Center Electrical Engineer

On behalf of Huawei, a world-renowned IT and Communications Company, We are seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Engineer to lead the design, review, and implementation of electrical power systems for Huawei data center projects. You will capture client requirements during pre-sales, develop compliant electrical solutions aligned with Uptime Institute Tier Standards and TIA requirements, oversee equipment sizing/selection, review third-party designs, supervise implementation, and ensure successful Testing & Commissioning (T&C). This role demands deep expertise in data center facility electrical infrastructure and proven experience in large-scale projects, preferably in the Gulf region.

Mandatory Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in data center design and implementation fields; preference for large-scale data center projects in the Gulf region.
• Certifications: Certified Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) or Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS) from Uptime Institute (preferred/strongly recommended).
• Technical Expertise:
• Expert understanding of data center facility systems, including electrical feeders, switchgear, transformers, generators, ATS/STS, UPS, PDU, power distribution, physical security, fire suppression & detection, and data cabling.
• Excellent knowledge of Tier classification system for data centers (Uptime Institute standards).
• Proven ability to read Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Strong awareness of current/emerging industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEEE, NFPA) and related vendors/technologies for data center physical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of power KPIs, SLAs, and escalation processes.

Skills & Soft Requirements:

• Proven leadership and exceptional project management skills, including coordination with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors; ability to prepare schedules for on-time/on-budget project close-out.
• Represent Huawei in client governance meetings to discuss technical aspects and recommend enhancements.
• Excellent verbal/written English and presentation skills.
• Strong communication for coordination with internal and customer teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Gulf/Middle East data center projects.
• Familiarity with Huawei data center solutions or similar high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and interpret technical requirements and business needs during the pre-sales stage to develop tailored solutions.
• Provide technical support during bidding, including review of design proposals, purchase orders, and contracts for accuracy.
• Generate complete data center electrical service solutions and manage their implementation.
• Thoroughly read and understand project Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to clearly capture client requirements.
• Prepare full electrical (power system) designs based on client needs.
• Perform equipment sizing and selection for critical power components.
• Conduct full review and validation of third-party designs to ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier Standards and TIA requirements.
• Review project shop drawings and coordinate during the implementation phase.
• Define project Testing & Commissioning (T&C) criteria and monitor actual execution.
• Supervise and monitor subcontractors to meet technical, quality, compliance, and schedule requirements as per drawings, specifications, and timelines.
