Role Overview

The Resident Engineer (RE) will be responsible for operation, administration, maintenance, security, and continuous availability of Active Directory Domain Controller infrastructure deployed across Central and Regional locations.
The role is critical to ensuring secure, stable, and compliant authentication services for Army intranet users and systems. The RE will work in mission-critical, high-availability environments, supporting production systems with strict security, compliance, and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities (Short Version)

• Administer, operate, and maintain Active Directory Domain Controllers across Central and Regional locations.
• Manage users, groups, OUs, DNS, GPOs, permissions, and security policies.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization; ensure high uptime.
• Implement security hardening, audit policies, logging, and compliance controls as per Army IT guidelines.
• Perform backup, restore, patching, and system updates for Domain Controllers.
• Troubleshoot incidents, resolve production issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Support integration of additional Domain Controllers and new applications.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and generate health/security reports.
• Coordinate with OEM/System Integrator teams for SLA adherence and issue resolution.
• Provide onsite Resident Engineer support at assigned locations, including emergency and off-hour support.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in:
• Active Directory administration
• Domain Controller management
• Windows Server environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• AD DS, DNS, GPOs
• Security policies and access controls
• System monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience working in secure, restricted, or government environments is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in production-critical environments.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified (Windows Server / Active Directory)
• Any relevant security or infrastructure certification

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with Army IT security policies and confidentiality norms.
• No unauthorized use of internet or external connectivity.
• All work to be performed strictly within approved infrastructure.
• Strong documentation, communication, and discipline required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
