The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and solutions for Data Center facilities. The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of our Data Center projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Design and develop mechanical systems for Data Center projects, including HVAC systems, cooling systems, piping systems, public health systems, BMS, and fire suppression systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to ensure the successful integration of mechanical systems into Data Center designs.
• Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Mentor junior engineers and familiarize them with the various design standards and industry best practices including company’s design guidelines.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize the performance and energy efficiency of mechanical systems.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess mechanical system installations and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and components for Data Center projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in Data Center mechanical design.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree is a plus. • Professional engineering license (PE) is preferred. • 5+ years solid experience in mechanical design and engineering, specifically in Data Center projects or similar mission-critical facilities. • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools. • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a complete ability to develop and use CFD modelling tools for the early design phase.
