Position Overview

The Data Engineer will build and manage the end-to-end data ecosystem across pipelines, transformations, modeling, quality, and monitoring in an Azure-first environment. As the data engineer for the team, this role requires strong technical depth, full ownership, and the ability to support both operational and analytical data needs. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and integrations with APIs and Azure services, and is comfortable managing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, enabling security, and supporting Power BI datasets to deliver reliable and well-structured data to the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory for batch and incremental loads.
  
• Develop transformation workflows in Azure Databricks.
  
• Design and optimize Azure SQL schemas, tables, queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
  
• Integrate data from APIs, Logic Apps, and Function Apps, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  
• Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring, with alerts and health checks for pipelines.
  
• Ensure data security and governance, including PII handling, access policies, and Key Vault.
  
• Collaborate with application and integration engineers on API-driven and event-driven data
  requirements.
  
• Support Power BI at a basic level (datasets, model optimization, refresh schedules)

What you will bring to the team:

• Around 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer with end-to-end ownership of data pipelines and models.
  
• Strong expertise in:
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure Databricks
  • Azure SQL
    
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data modeling, and orchestration.
  
• Comfortable integrating with APIs, Logic Apps, and Function Apps.
  
• Working knowledge of Power BI datasets and refresh management.
  
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
