Data Entry

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Entry specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Hampton, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting accounting and donor management functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to both administrative and operational processes.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and report expenditures against approved budgets, highlighting any variances to leadership.
• Ensure all transactions meet donor restrictions, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
• Assist grant managers with purchase request processes and related documentation.
• Generate purchase orders, coordinate with vendors, and track receipt of goods and services to ensure timely payments.
• Record and acknowledge charitable donations in the donor management system, Raiser's Edge, while maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare and issue donor receipts, acknowledgment letters, and tax-related documentation promptly.
• Support annual giving campaigns and fundraising events through administrative and financial tasks.
• Maintain and update donor database records to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Provide administrative support for the Associate Vice President, including managing calendars and scheduling meetings.
• Organize and maintain both physical and digital filing systems for financial and administrative records.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data entry, accounting, or a related administrative role.
• Proficiency in data entry and invoice processing tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience using donor management systems, particularly Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud.
• Strong understanding of donor communication and gift acknowledgment processes.
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial operations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with donors, vendors, and team members.
