The Data Entry Officer is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining data in computer systems and databases. This role requires attention to detail, speed, and accuracy to ensure data integrity and proper record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and update data into databases, spreadsheets, and systems efficiently
- Verify accuracy of data before and after entry
- Review and correct errors in data records
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Organize and maintain files and records (digital and physical)
- Generate reports and summaries as required
- Coordinate with other departments to collect necessary information
- Perform regular data backups and ensure data security
- Follow company procedures and data management policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Entry Officer or similar role
- Fast typing speed with high accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and basic computer applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Basic understanding of databases
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Education & Experience
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, or related field
- Previous data entry or administrative experience is an advantage
