Data Entry Specialist

Job Summary:

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining data in company databases and systems. This role ensures data integrity and supports internal teams by providing timely, organized, and error-free information. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter, verify, and update data in databases, spreadsheets, or systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Review data for errors or discrepancies and correct any inconsistencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
• Prepare and sort documents for data entry and ensure proper filing of completed work.
• Generate routine reports and assist with data analysis as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to improve data quality and workflow processes.
• Perform regular data backups and verify data integrity.
• Respond to requests for data and provide information as needed.

Qualifications:

• B com, B Sc or diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a data entry clerk, data entry operator, or similar role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and data management software.
• Excellent typing speed and accuracy (recommended 45+ WPM).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
