Data Entry Specialist

Objective:

Provide data entry and customer service support to the Transportation Department, ensuring accuracy,

organization, and efficiency in handling client records and financial transactions.

Description:

The Data Entry Specialist – is responsible for managing electronic filing, client account setup, document

processing, and customer service support This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the

ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

1. Electronically file documents in client accounts.

2. Set up new clients in company software.

3. Submit forms to contract companies for collections.

4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information

5. Organize, set up, maintain, and update projects.

6. Work on multiple projects simultaneously.

7. Assist in collecting payments and creating invoices.

8. Research changes in standards and clearly communicate findings to the

supervisor.

9. Assist with revisions and updates of departmental manuals/materials.

10. Perform customer support tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, and data entry.

11. Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by the supervisor.

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (preferred).

4. Strong communication and organizational skills.

5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

6. Professional demeanor and positive attitude.

7. Ability to quickly learn and use in-house software.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervision responsibilities. He or she will have the Transportation Accounting Group

Supervisor as the supervisor.

Position Expectations & Work Environment

This is a full-time hourly non-exempt position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works

normal office hours. Some weeks over 40 hours will be required.

Location & Travel

Based in Springfield, MO, but also serve employees in all Abacus! physical locations and those working remotely.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Some college experience (beneficial but not required).
  • Customer Service and Administrative experience

preferred.

  • Must be able to pass a CJIS background check.
  • Experience using the internet and performing data entry.
