Role Summary


The Data Governance Specialist is responsible for developing the data governance policies, processes, and standards, supporting in change management activities and provisioning data governance advisory such as assigning data stewards and owners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and processes aligned with global and local standards (e.g., DAMA, ADDA, NDMO).
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework and operating model.
  • Define and update roles and responsibilities for data stewardship and ownership, ensuring accountability across key data assets.
  • Lead compliance initiatives to enforce data policies and conduct regular audits with actionable recommendations.
  • Provide expert advisory to the Data Management Office on data usage, quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Track and report operational KPIs to the Head of Data Governance.
  • Support change management efforts, including communication planning and execution.
  • Collaborate on workflow automation for governance processes using relevant tools.
  • Develop and deliver capability-building programs and awareness sessions for business teams.
  • Apply DMBOK standards to guide strategic data governance initiatives.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data governance operating models and best practices.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent certification preferred.
