To maintain a competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a new "Data Governance internship"


Job Purpose:

This internship will help support the setup and running of our Data Governance program. You will assist the team in following important data rules like PDPL (Saudi Arabia), GDPR (Europe), and others. You will also learn how to use open-source tools to help manage data in a smart and cost-effective way.


Responsibilities:

  • Help design and support the company’s Data Governance framework (this means helping create rules and processes about how data is handled).
  • Assist in making sure our data rules follow local and international laws like PDPL, GDPR, and others.
  • Learn about and apply best practices from organizations like DAMA to keep data safe and high-quality.
  • Monitor changes in data laws and help update our policies accordingly.
  • Help keep track of how well we follow data rules.
  • Research and suggest free or open-source tools to support data management.
  • Work with different teams (like IT and business) to help put data rules into action.
  • Support the team with reports and presentations on data governance topics


Qualifications:

  • 0 to 1 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree / Student in computer science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.
  • Interest in learning about data governance, data privacy, and data management.
  • Some understanding of data protection laws like PDPL or GDPR is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of data tools or willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
