Role Overview:

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for defining, executing, and enhancing the organization’s enterprise-wide data governance strategy, frameworks, and operating models. The role ensures high data quality, regulatory compliance, and standardized data usage across the enterprise. Prior experience in the BFSI domain is a strong advantage due to industry-specific governance and regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Establish and enforce data policies, standards, ownership models, and stewardship structures.
• Develop and manage data quality frameworks including rules, monitoring, dashboards, and issue resolution.
• Oversee enterprise metadata management, data lineage initiatives, and master data governance.
• Collaborate with business, IT, and compliance stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, RBI guidelines, ISO standards, etc.
• Lead implementation and adoption of data governance platforms like Collibra, Informatica, Alation.
• Conduct training, workshops, and awareness programs to promote data governance culture.
• Track and report governance KPIs, maturity assessments, and ensure audit readiness.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8–15 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Enterprise Data Programs.
• Strong hands-on expertise with governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon/EDC.
• Deep understanding of data quality, metadata, data lineage, and master data management.
• Strong BFSI domain experience (regulatory data, risk data, customer data, KYC, AML, core banking).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

Professional Skills:

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight timelines.
• Proactive, innovative, and collaborative mindset.
• Experience with BFSI compliance, governance, and risk management teams.

Good to Have:

• Experience working with non-technical or cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with Japanese clients or Japanese-oriented organizations.
• Certifications like Databricks, AWS/Azure/GCP, DAMA, or Collibra.
• Exposure to cloud and enterprise data platforms.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related fields.
• Preferred certifications: DAMA, Collibra, DCAM.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹180,000.00 per month
