Data Management Consultant

Overview

The Data Management Consultant is responsible for advising organizations on how to effectively collect, organize, govern, and utilize data to support business objectives. This role bridges the gap between business strategy and data operations by developing frameworks for data quality, governance, integration, and analytics enablement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and improve data management processes — analyze existing data infrastructure and recommend improvements.
• Develop data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Design and implement data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, or modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support data quality initiatives , including data cleansing, validation, and enrichment.
• Provide strategic guidance on master data management (MDM), metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
• Work with analytics teams to ensure reliable and consistent data pipelines for reporting and decision-making.
• Conduct training and workshops to help teams adopt data management best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or Business Administration .
• +4 years of experience in data management, data governance, or related consulting roles.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and ETL tools .
• Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures .
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable business recommendations.
