Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Modeling Expert to design and maintain conceptual and logical data models forming the foundation of Bosch’s digital and AI initiatives.
You will translate complex business requirements into structured, reusable, and scalable data models that drive analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency.

This role bridges the business and technical teams — ensuring that data structures reflect business semantics, support governance, and enable long-term interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Modeling & Design

  • Design and maintain conceptual and logical data models that accurately capture business entities, relationships, and attributes.

  • Translate business processes and KPIs into structured data models supporting analytics and AI.

  • Collaborate with data engineers to support physical model realization.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data modeling standards, naming conventions, and metadata rules.

  • Maintain data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and semantic definitions for each domain.

2. Business Alignment

  • Engage with business stakeholders to capture and refine data requirements.

  • Serve as a bridge between business experts and data engineers to ensure consistent understanding of data meaning and use.

  • Document lineage, usage, and semantic definitions to promote data transparency.

3. Quality & Governance

  • Ensure model consistency, data integrity, and compliance with Bosch data governance policies.

  • Support the adoption of data modeling best practices across domains and teams.

  • Participate in peer reviews and contribute to the improvement of data standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in data modeling, data analysis, or data product design.

  • Strong hands-on experience in conceptual and logical data modeling.

  • Proficiency in modeling tools such as Sparx EA, PowerDesigner, or ER/Studio.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling and data normalization principles.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to data governance tools (Informatica EDC/IDMC, Collibra).

  • Awareness of cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks).

  • Basic understanding of data lineage and metadata management.

  • Domain familiarity with manufacturing, engineering, or logistics data.

Key Competencies

  • Analytical and structured thinking.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on model reusability and clarity.

  • Collaborative mindset within agile teams.
