Data Platform Lead

We are seeking an accomplished Data Platform Lead to accelerate the transformation journey for our client. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale data platforms—specifically with Oracle Data Platform on Oracle Cloud. The role involves leading the migration of data from legacy data warehouses to a modern, cloud-based Oracle data platform, ensuring seamless integration, robust data governance, advanced metadata management, and cutting-edge reporting capabilities. Prior experience in banking environments within the Middle East is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end implementation of Oracle Data Platform on Oracle Cloud, including architecture design, integration, security, performance optimization, and scalability planning.
• Oversee the migration of large volumes of data from legacy data warehouses to the target Oracle Data Platform on the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.
• Develop and enforce data governance and metadata management frameworks, as well as quality and compliance standards in accordance with banking regulations in KSA and the wider Middle East region.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and partners to capture requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver robust reporting solutions.
• Design and implement state-of-the-art reporting services and analytics capabilities to empower business intelligence and strategic decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and upskill a cross-functional team of data engineers, architects, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging Oracle cloud technologies, automation, and best practices in data platform management.
• Prepare and present progress updates, roadmaps, and migration strategies to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all data platform implementations adhere to strict security standards, disaster recovery, business continuity policies, and comprehensive metadata management practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of hands-on experience in implementing enterprise-scale data platforms and reporting services.
• Proven experience in the migration from legacy data warehouse environments to modern cloud-based Oracle Data Platforms.
• Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Data Platform architecture, data migration tools, and metadata management solutions.
• Strong background in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, metadata management, data quality, governance, and security best practices.
• Extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector, preferably within the Middle East and ideally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
• Demonstrated leadership in managing large, cross-functional teams and complex programs.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills.
• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of KSA banking regulations and data compliance requirements is highly desirable.
• Certifications in Oracle Data Platform, Oracle Cloud, or related data management disciplines are an advantage.
