Data Quality Analyst

Job Description:

The Data Quality Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of organizational data, going beyond mere oversight to actively foster a culture of data excellence. In this position, you will leverage your foundational knowledge and critical thinking capabilities to develop and implement robust data quality policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure adherence to established data quality standards while providing insights and recommendations to drive data quality initiatives forward. Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in data quality management, data governance, or data analytics.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data quality principles and frameworks.
  • Proven ability to execute data quality assessments and identify areas for improvement.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and techniques, including data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to data quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor data quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational objectives.
  • Conduct regular assessments of data quality across various sources, identifying issues and discrepancies that impact decision-making processes.
  • Develop and propose comprehensive corrective and preventive action plans targeting identified data quality issues and ensuring implementation.
  • Collaborate with data owners and relevant teams to follow up on the adoption of approved corrective actions, ensuring full accountability in data quality initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data quality best practices, fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes data management excellence.
  • Generate insightful reports on data quality metrics, communicating findings and recommendations to management and key stakeholders.
  • Remain current with industry trends and best practices in data quality management, recommending updates and innovations to existing processes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends.
  • Technical proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, Python, or equivalent) for conducting data profiling and cleansing operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a practical approach to addressing data quality challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for articulating technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in creating clear and concise documentation of data quality policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of data governance practices and the ability to apply them in real-world scenarios.
  • Familiarity with data quality certifications and frameworks such as ISO 8000 is a plus.
  • Interpersonal skills that enable collaboration and relationship-building across teams.
