Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Lahore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance, security, and availability. The role also involves managing Azure SQL environments, supporting developers, and automating routine administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations across platforms.
• Ensure high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource monitoring.
• Implement and enforce data security, encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring system stability.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, standard procedures, and best practices.
• Support developers with query optimization, stored procedures, and schema design.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripts and tools.
• Manage and monitor Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and Elastic Pools.
• Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) solutions for Azure SQL.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries, indexes, and application database design.
• Automate processes using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure Automation.
• Support database migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4–6 years of proven experience in database administration (relational and NoSQL).
• Strong expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and Elastic Pools.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proficiency in query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance monitoring tools.
• Good scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, T-SQL, Bash, or Python.
• Solid understanding of data security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
