Role Purpose

The Data Engineer will be responsible for building, governing, and maintaining high-quality, trusted, and AI-ready data across the organization. The role focuses on data quality management, master data governance, and data engineering foundations required to support analytics, AI initiatives, and ISO-aligned data standards (notably ISO 8000).

This role is critical to ensuring that company data is accurate, consistent, complete, secure, and usable across all operational and AI use cases.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) integrating data from PMS, ERP, Finance, HR, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
• Ensure data is structured, standardized, and optimized for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML consumption.
• Support real-time and batch data ingestion architectures.

Data Quality Management

• Define and implement data quality rules, metrics, and controls (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity).
• Monitor, report, and continuously improve data quality across critical datasets.
• Establish automated data validation, profiling, and anomaly detection processes.

Master Data Management (MDM)

• Design and enforce master data models (e.g., guests, vendors, rooms, products, accounts).
• Implement governance workflows for master data creation, change, and approval.
• Ensure consistency of master data across all systems and properties.

AI & Analytics Enablement

• Prepare and curate clean, trusted datasets for AI, automation, and advanced analytics use cases.
• Work closely with AI engineers, automation teams, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision making.
• Support data requirements for RAG pipelines, dashboards, and ML models.

Standards, Governance & Compliance

• Lead or support the organization’s alignment with ISO 8000 (Data Quality & Master Data Management).
• Define data governance policies, ownership models, and stewardship roles.
• Ensure compliance with Bahrain PDPL, GDPR (where applicable), and internal data governance standards.
• Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage records.
