Daycare Assistant

Job Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Daycare Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing developmental activities, ensuring each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. Duties

  • Assist in supervising children during play, meals, nap times, and educational activities to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Support classroom management by helping organize materials, set up learning stations, and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool curriculum and toddler care routines.
  • Provide attentive care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed.
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by following individualized plans and working closely with specialists.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding daily activities, milestones, and any concerns about their child's well-being.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary to ensure a secure environment for all children.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is essential.
  • Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies will help create a positive learning environment.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or special needs enhances your ability to support diverse learners effectively.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; ongoing training in early childhood education or special education is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.25 per hour
