Position Summary
The Early Childhood Educator plays a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Support: Assist in implementing daily curriculum and lesson plans, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Child Supervision & Care: Provide attentive supervision and support children’s daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, and naptime.
• Inclusion & Behavior Management: Apply inclusive practices and positive behavior management strategies, including support for children with special needs such as autism.
• Team Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues to assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Education & Certification Requirements
Kidz Academy is a high-quality NM Pre-K, FOCUS - 5-STAR center. Candidates must meet New Mexico state requirements based on their role.

• All employees must complete 30 hours of NMECE training within the first 90 days of employment.
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience (not required for all roles).

Qualifications for Lead Roles:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Early Childhood Education (ECE), or active enrollment in a BA ECE program; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in another field with at least 18 credit hours in ECE; OR
• Completion of at least two ECE courses toward the NM CDC, a CDA credential, or an AA/BA in ECE (FOCUS 5-STAR requirement).
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (required).

Essential Skills & Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform First Aid and CPR (training provided)
• Strong awareness of child safety and ability to respond quickly to potential hazards.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and engaged throughout the workday.
• Ability to make sound, timely decisions regarding child safety and well-being.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle, if required for the position.
• Ability to create a physically, emotionally, and mentally safe environment for all children.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
