Compensation: $50,000 – $72,000 per year (based on experience)

About the Role

Inver Grove Honda is seeking an organized and motivated Service Dispatcher to coordinate workflow within our service department. This role is responsible for assigning repair orders to technicians, managing shop productivity, and ensuring efficient communication between technicians, service advisors, and management.

The Service Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining shop efficiency, minimizing technician downtime, and supporting a smooth customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport parts to various locations
  • Distribute work load to technicans
  • Pick up and transport technicians between dealership buildings as needed.
  • Deliver vehicles to technicians at various locations throughout the dealership.
  • Respond to cashier requests by retrieving and staging customer vehicles for pickup.
  • Prepare rental vehicles for customer use, including cleaning, fueling, and staging.
  • Remove trash from Honda South daily using a side-by-side utility vehicle.
  • Assist service advisors, cashiers, and dispatchers with operational and administrative tasks.
  • Provide general assistance and support to customers as needed.
  • Open and operate car wash facilities when required.
  • Pick up parts from external vendors and local businesses.
  • Test-drive vehicles on behalf of technicians when requested.
  • Support managers with assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Dispatch Saturday shop work assignments to technicians on a monthly basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Consistently follow all safety guidelines and dealership procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous automotive dealership experience preferred
  • Prior dispatching, service advisor, or technician experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Basic computer proficiency with dealership management systems preferred
