Join the largest independently owned Waterworks Distributor as our newest Delivery Driver out of our Bangor, ME division!

The Delivery Driver will be responsible for making deliveries to local contractors and municipalities using a one-ton truck. Materials include handling, stowing, and transportation of water distribution piping and fittings, and iron castings such as manhole covers, grates and frames, etc. When not delivering, this individual will also assist in staffing the retail area of the operation, answering telephones, and assisting customers with their orders (phone and counter sales).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Making Deliveries to Local Contractors and Municipalities
  • Loading and Unloading Product, Whether by Hand or use of a Forklift
  • Yard and Warehouse Maintenance
  • Receiving, Stocking and Counting Product
  • Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of team E.J.P., vendors and customers by:
  • Communicating openly, honestly, and constructively while assisting customers in person and over the phone
  • Treating all employees, vendors and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy
  • Taking responsibility and making effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems
  • Asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities, asking others for help and assisting others
  • Generating sales within our established Contractors and Municipalities
  • Responding to requests from customers for product information
  • Remaining knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in our customers and competition

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Excellent communication skills are required, both written and oral
  • Physical requirements include frequent lifting of up to 70 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling is also required
  • Must be able to qualify for DOT medical card (Class A License NOT required)
  • Must have experience with POS and CRM systems (technical ability)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Takes initiative and is self-motivated
  • Responsive and follows tasks through to completion
  • Team player and collaborator; must work well with others

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High School / vocational diploma or equivalent, DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one. Prior experience at a fast paced, deadline driven environment preferred.
