Delivery Driver/Yard Operative

Andersons Ltd are looking for a Delivery Driver/Yard Operative to join their well-established business in Carlisle on a permanent basis.

Andersons supply quality fitted kitchens, interior and exterior doors, wood flooring, timber, and hardware to trade and public customers across the UK. The company started in Cumbria in 1888 as a timber yard and sawmill, and to this day supplying timber to both trade and public customers represents a sizeable part of our business.

We are offering a full-time position working 42 hours per week Monday-Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm (4:30 on a Friday). Once trained, this will increase to 46 hours per week with the addition of Saturday 8.00am - 12.00pm.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

· Picking and Packing

· Loading and unloading customer orders for delivery

· Receiving/unloading deliveries

· Manual handling

· Inventory control

How will you be supported?

You will be supported by an experienced team and the branch management team.

Entry Requirements

Previous driving experience and a valid forklift licence is preferred however full staff training will be given. A full clean driving licence is required for this role (Category C1 7.5 tonne licence preferred).

Salary

A salary from the age related National Minimum Wage will be paid dependent on licence/experience.
