Position Summary
Level: Analyst/Consultant
As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
Work you’ll do:
The work done will mainly support audit and consulting projects undertaken by the firm. The work may include one or more items from the list below (not exhaustive):
- Develop actuarially sound rates for various healthcare products
- Perform analysis to help our clients reduce health costs and improve their performance• Prepare and review reserves and assumptions in support of Deloitte audits of health care liabilities (incurred but not reported (IBNR), medical loss ratio (MLR) rebates, risk adjustment, etc.) and group insurance liabilities (IBNR, active life reserves, disabled life reserves, etc.) across various accounting base

Assist insurance carriers with the implementation of Long Duration Targeted Improvements for GAAP accounting standards
- Assisting insurance carriers on their finance or data modernization journey
- Develop models to understand the financial impact of proposed solutions and strategies
- Align provider contracting strategy with rating trends
- Price alternative plan designs and define product strategy
- Work with the team to develop actuarial models and calculate ROI for medical management and other health plan initiatives
- Conduct other health actuarial consulting activities, as required

Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- 3 - 8 years of hands-on experience in actuarial work in the health care domain

Able to work independently or in a team environment
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

Candidate is expected to possess strong health actuarial technical skills with a consulting mindset
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to program using SQL, SAS or Python
- Extensive experience of MS Excel, VBA, Word and PowerPoint
- Actuarial work experience in the US health care industry
- Prior experience training/reviewing work of entry level actuarial analysts
- Well organized with the ability to handle several projects/clients simultaneously
- Strong work ethics with a commitment to client service excellence
- Ability to actively contribute to the team, with various backgrounds, in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment
Education:
- Graduation/Post Graduation with mathematics/statistics or any subject with sizeable mathematical content
