Position Summary
Level: Senior Consultant
As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale software solutions, lead the creation of robust pipelines and manage code deployment across environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to translate functional requirements into effective deliverables, independently guiding and mentoring junior team members. Your role spans the full project lifecycle, including estimation, planning, execution, and tracking key metrics for analysis, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of solutions.
Work you’ll do:
Assist in designing and evaluating employee benefit programs for a wide range of clients, with an emphasis on pension, post-retirement medical and insurance plans. The professional is expected to work with client teams to determine the adequacy, funding requirements, and financial impact of these plans, and ensure compliance with government regulations and financial accounting standards. He/she is also expected to support Pension and OPEB audits and various other non-recurring projects related to pension de-risking and assumptions setting.
The Senior Consultant will be required to support the Retirement team as follows:
- Perform Actuarial valuations as per PPA act and ASC 715-30 and ASC 715-60.
- Prepare disclosure and expense reports as per US GAAP, IAS19R or other local standards as relevant.
- Review data and asset reconciliations, individual sample cases, and liability results.
- Coding the plan provisions in ProVal for valuations.
- Non-discrimination testing for qualified pension plans.
- To act as first drafter collaborating with the Pension Audit support Centre of Excellence.
- To support various other engagements like government filings, annual statements, benefit calculations, experience studies etc.
- Effectively manage clients, projects and team members to meet client expectations.
- Coding surveys and assisting with the necessary analysis needed to help clients optimize their rewards by aligning their benefits strategies with workforce preferences
- Support health plan renewals and underwriting, medical pricing models, vendor management and negotiations, wellbeing programs, data warehousing, dashboards, and benchmarking analysis for various employers.

At Deloitte, our retirement consultants provide a full-range of Pension and OPEB audit and valuation services to clients. Our team members work collaboratively and apply their actuarial knowledge and experience to help clients in providing retirement plan design solutions, funding alternative, experience studies and de-risking solutions. The team also offers insights into retirement benefits administration of DB and DC plans using ProAdmin software. The team also supports broader areas of Rewards Strategy, Workforce Governance and Risk, Employer Healthcare and Rewards Optimization.
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- 6+ years of relevant pension actuarial experience
- Completion of 3-5 core technical actuarial exams
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Experience in US PPA Funding and Accounting Valuation
- Experience in pension de-risking projects, experience study, benefit calculation and client implementation on Pension Valuation
- Demonstrating pension valuation and coding experience in PROVAL
- Extensive experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Very strong analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Excellent mentoring skills
Education:
- Graduation/Post Graduation with mathematics/statistics or any subject with sizeable mathematical content
