Dental Asisstant

Overview
We are seeking a personable, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. In this position, we are looking for someone who is willing to be cross trained as assistant and front desk.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
• 4 Handed Dentistry
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently as needed.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures with knowledge of child behavior management techniques.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high standards of care are met.
• Assist front desk when needed to schedule appointments, answer calls and help where needed.

Requirements

• Knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology is essential for effective communication.
• Understanding of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Experience with medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
• Previous experience in dental assisting is highly desirable, particularly in prosthodontics or similar fields.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality is required.
• Familiarity with Open Dental or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
