Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and arranging necessary supplies in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.
• Operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools while adhering to safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and image quality for diagnosis.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes precisely.
• Support front desk operations by functioning as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining medical documentation.
• Maintain strict infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate effective communication within the team.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is required; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices is mandatory to protect patient confidentiality and safety.
• Hands-on experience with dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and medical imaging tools like 3D scanners enhances your candidacy.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy supports effective communication within the clinical team.
• Experience assisting in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is advantageous; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is desirable.
• Certification in chairside assisting or dental assisting programs demonstrates your commitment to professional growth in this field. Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
