Dental Assistant

We are looking for a Dental Assistant to add to our growing team at Carmel Distinctive Dental. We are a general family dental private practice that sees all ages. This position is part time. Flexible on days/hours of the week. Our hours are currently M 8 am - 3 pm & M/T/Th 9 am - 5 pm. Experience is not required, new grads are welcome to apply! We will train the right candidate! We do have the opportunity for 5 days if you are looking for more hours!

We are looking for a dental assistant to help treat patients as family and promote good oral health practices. If you have an upbeat personality and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
• Sterilize dental instruments properly
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
• Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
• Take X-rays or dental impressions
• Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
• Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
• Monitor supplies
• place restorations

Skills

• Proven experience as Dental Assistant or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Outstanding communication skills
• A patient and friendly personality
• Attention to detail
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
• Diploma in Dental Assistant or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
