Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant – Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. This role is essential in supporting clinical operations and ensuring a high standard of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing instruments and materials as needed
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patient care
  • Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including updating medical histories, while ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and assisting with patient inquiries
  • Adhere to strict infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with industry standards
  • Utilize dental software systems (e.g., Denticon) for patient charting and record management
  • Assist with prosthodontic and other specialty procedures by preparing materials and supporting the clinical team

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical role preferred
  • Knowledge of dental and medical terminology, basic anatomy, and infection control procedures
  • Familiarity with patient record management and HIPAA compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients and team members
  • Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Denticon or similar dental practice management software is a plus
