Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
• Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
• Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
• Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding as needed
• Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing patient flow efficiently
• Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
• Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and the importance of infection control measures

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with the dental team
• Certification or training in chairside assisting, medical terminology, or related fields preferred
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
