Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics with precision and care.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following infection control protocols.
• Take high-quality X-rays and operate advanced medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
• Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and assisting with anesthesia or sedation as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote safety.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes; experience with Epic or similar systems is a plus.
• Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and experience working with children is highly desirable.
• Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; certification in CPR or BLS is also advantageous.
