Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Although a strong understanding of dental procedures, equipment, and patient management is essential for success in this role, we are offering a unique opportunity to train on the job. Additionally, once an applicant reaches 90 days of training in our office they may be eligible to attend a dental assisting school and receive an expanded functions certificate at not cost to them. Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Take X-rays and perform medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize dental software such as Dentrix and Epic for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
  • Conduct patient assessments by gathering medical histories and providing education on post operative care and progressing through treatment
  • Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide support in managing inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry is highly desirable.
  • Basic computer skills are required. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
  • Experience with X-ray technology and medical imaging practices is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
  • Reliability and punctuality are absolutely a must.
