Job Title: Female Dental Nurse

Location: Dr. Aimen Zia Dental Clinic, Jumeirah Garden City, Al-Satwa, Dubai, UAE

Working Days: Saturday to Thursday (Friday Off, Sunday Open)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Salary: 4,000 to 5,500 AED (Depends on Experience and Expertise)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Female Dental Nurse to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for clinical and administrative support while upholding the highest standards of patient care, clinic safety, and regulatory compliance. This is a critical role requiring proactive involvement in all aspects of dental practice operations.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties:

  • Assist dentists during all dental procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and work areas following infection control protocols.
  • Accurately mix dental materials (cements, impression materials, etc.) as required.
  • Take and process digital radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with UAE health regulations.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatments, ensure comfort and provide explanation of procedures.
  • Monitor patient vitals and medical history updates.
  • Provide chairside assistance efficiently and anticipate dentist’s needs.
  • Disinfect all treatment areas before and after every patient.
  • Manage and maintain dental supply inventory.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and arrange timely maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation/charts as per DHA standards.
  • Follow proper protocol for hazardous waste disposal (amalgam, sharps, etc.).
  • Manage sterilization logs and monitor autoclave cycle & maintenance.
  • Participate in team meetings on clinical updates and improvements.
  • Support patient recovery post-treatment and provide aftercare guidance.
  • Monitor expiry dates for all medicines, dental supplies, and emergency kits.
  • SAFEGUARD all tools and clinical instruments after each shift.
  • Provide first aid or emergency support within the scope of dental nursing.
  • Handle dental impressions and laboratory-related tasks.

Patient Care:

  • Ensure all patients are treated with empathy and respect.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality as per UAE Privacy Laws and GDPR.
  • Record and communicate any patient allergies, medical conditions, or concerns.
  • Obtain informed consent for all procedures following DHA guidelines.
  • Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients in Arabic, English, or Hindi/Urdu, as needed.
  • Support anxious, disabled, pediatric, and elderly patients with special care.
  • Report and follow up any patient grievances or complaints promptly.

Infection Control & Safety:

  • Follow the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Infection Control Policy at all times.
  • Wear correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce usage for all clinic staff.
  • Disinfect high-contact surfaces hourly.
  • Strictly separate clean/dirty areas in the clinic.
  • Oversee proper hand hygiene practices in the clinic.
  • Label all hazardous materials per government regulation.
  • Ensure regular staff vaccination in line with legal guidelines.
  • Perform daily/weekly/quarterly deep cleaning procedures as scheduled.
  • Conduct internal audits of infection prevention protocols.
  • Participate in fire drills and other emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Report every incident, accident, or near-miss immediately to management.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Report to and collaborate with the Clinic Manager on compliance matters.
  • Maintain valid DHA license/eligibility letter at all times.
  • Assist with MOH/DHA inspections, audits, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update all legal documentation (licenses, insurance, SOPs, etc.).
  • Follow all UAE labor laws regarding working hours, holidays, and staff welfare.
  • Ensure patient data is protected as per UAE Data Protection Law.
  • Retain patient records for legally required duration.

Administrative Duties:

  • Greet and register patients, verify appointments.
  • Update and manage patient health records in digital and/or paper format.
  • Collect and submit billing information as needed.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and reminders.
  • Liaise with insurance companies for pre-approvals/documentation.
  • Coordinate with dental laboratories for prosthetic orders and pickups.

Customer Service & Clinic Reputation:

  • Uphold the clinic’s image through professional presentation and courtesy.
  • Resolve patient issues tactfully to protect the clinic’s image.
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, SOPs, and code of conduct.
  • Receive and log lost & found items.
  • Collect and address patient feedback to improve services.
  • Collaborate with social media and marketing for promotional activities with permission.

Stock, Asset & Facility Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and organize dental supply deliveries.
  • Record usage and wastage in inventory management system.
  • Communicate with suppliers for reordering or returns.
  • Test and log electrical and mechanical safety of dental chairs & equipment.
  • Secure all clinic assets at the end of the day.

Security & Confidentiality:

  • Enforce strict no-unauthorized-personnel-in-treatment-area policy.
  • Lock drug cabinets and valuable supplies outside clinical hours.
  • Report security breaches to management immediately.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of all digital records.
  • Never disclose internal procedures, clinic numbers, or patient data to outsiders.

HR, Development & Teamwork:

  • Support onboarding and training of new nurses and assistants.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development (CPD, workshops).
  • Follow all anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
  • Report workplace conflicts or incidents to HR as per process.
  • Provide input for annual performance reviews.

Health & Safety:

  • Monitor and report health, fire, and safety hazards.
  • Ensure the clinic’s fire exits and equipment are always accessible.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest dental health protocols.
  • Participate in annual CPR and emergency management training.
  • Oversee emergency drug inventory.

Financial Responsibility:

  • Prevent unnecessary waste of materials.
  • Report suspected theft or financial discrepancies immediately.
  • Assist with cash collection/counter tasks when needed, following SOPs.

Appearance & Professional Image:

  • Wear a clean, ironed uniform and appropriate closed shoes.
  • Display clinic ID badge at all times within the clinic.
  • Avoid personal calls and social media usage during working hours (except emergencies).
  • Maintain personal hygiene and neat grooming standards.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

  • Be punctual, reliable, and able to cover shifts or emergencies as required.
  • Adapt to sudden changes in the clinic schedule or work role.
  • Stay calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Provide additional support during peak times, holidays, or special clinic events.

Technology & Systems:

  • Operate dental software, digital imaging systems, and appointment scheduling tools.
  • Report system/software malfunctions to IT or clinic manager.
  • Adhere to clinic’s digital data backup protocols.

Communication:

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Escalate clinical/medical decisions to the dentist only.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and provide feedback.

Sustainability & Waste Management:

  • Follow clinic’s green policy and reduce use of disposables where practical.
  • Segregate biohazard, recyclable, and general waste as per DHA and Dubai Municipality regulations.

Miscellaneous:

  • Promote the clinic’s mission and values at all times.
  • Maintain a positive and proactive attitude, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Be honest and transparent in all patient and administrative dealings.
  • Promptly report any irregularities or unethical activity.
  • Ensure clinic is locked and secured before leaving the premises each night.
