Dental Assistant (X ray Certified)

As an X-ray Certified Dental Assistant, you will utilize your technical skills to perform accurate dental imaging, assist with various procedures, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols using aseptic techniques.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper positioning and safety measures for patients and staff.
  • Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Open Dental ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures, especially when working with pediatric or medically complex patients.
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and compliance.
  • Support front desk responsibilities by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Operate advanced imaging equipment like 3D scanners when necessary for comprehensive diagnostics in general dentistry or specialized treatments.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with team members in a four-handed dentistry setup to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control standards, and dental assisting best practices to ensure top-tier service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Valid X-ray certification required; additional certifications in dental assisting or related fields are preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
  • Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines for radiation exposure.
