Dental Assistant/Receptionist

Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in medical billing, coding, and office management will help streamline our practice and enhance patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and scheduling.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Prepare and review medical records, documentation, and treatment plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist dental professionals during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and maintaining sterilization protocols.
  • Handle medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, Medicare claims, and electronic health record (EHR) documentation review using systems like Meditech or Athenahealth.
  • Maintain organized filing of patient records, manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems, and ensure all documentation is up-to-date.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, managing appointment scheduling, and ensuring a positive clinic experience through effective phone etiquette and clerical support.

Experience

  • Prior experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinical procedures is essential.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical administrative support practices, and front desk operations is required.
  • Willing to train

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
