Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote healthy teeth and gums.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans.
• Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and radiation safety standards.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental supplies effectively.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and their unique needs.
• Familiarity with dental coding, documentation review, and medical records management to ensure accurate billing and compliance.
• Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments that emphasizes patient care, documentation accuracy, and teamwork.
• Current, active Dental Hygiene licensure must be current according to state requirements.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
