Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records, and assist with medical coding as needed to ensure proper billing.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure or certification as a Dental Hygienist with current registration.
• Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with EMR systems like Open dental
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care is a plus.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting duties confidently during procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $52.00 per hour
