Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental records to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
- Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology relevant to children’s oral health needs.
- Review medical records for documentation accuracy and assist with medical coding for billing purposes.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times within the dental practice environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working in general dentistry or dental clinics with a focus on patient care and hygiene services is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with dental assisting duties, including chairside assisting and medical imaging, is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice is necessary.
