Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using appropriate aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
• Assist dentists during procedures through four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred.
• Proficiency with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Experience with chairside assisting, including patient care, documentation review, and medical coding.
• Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes.
