Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans.
• Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing patients for treatments.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants in four-handed dentistry to streamline procedures efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
• Experience using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, infection control procedures, and pediatric dentistry principles supports effective patient care.
