Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper medical coding and billing processes.
- Adhere strictly to infection control standards using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinic environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatrics and working effectively with young patients.
- Manage dental office equipment, supplies, and sterilization procedures to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Experience in chairside assisting combined with medical terminology understanding enhances clinical support capabilities.
- Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for accurate documentation review and data management.
- Ability to perform medical coding accurately for billing purposes while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
