Dental Insurance Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice team. Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments to ensure accurate billing and coverage details
• Submit insurance claims accurately using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 classifications
• Review and process medical records and dental records in accordance with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and security
• Manage insurance denials, appeals, and reprocessing to optimize reimbursement rates
• Conduct insurance verification and eligibility checks for new and existing patients
• Maintain comprehensive medical and dental records related to insurance claims and billing activities
• Collaborate with office staff to ensure all coding aligns with current medical terminology and insurance requirements
• Stay updated on managed care policies, insurance plan changes, and coding updates to ensure compliance and accuracy

Experience

• Experience using Dentrix (2 Years)
• Strong knowledge of managed care processes, medical coding (including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and insurance verification procedures
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality
• Experience handling medical terminology, medical records management, and medical billing processes
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with insurance companies, patients, and team members
