Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented experienced Dental Lab Technician to help manage and run a small dental lab owned by a dentist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental fabrication and laboratory procedures, with a keen eye for precision and quality. As a Dental Lab Technician, you will be responsible for creating and customizing dental prosthetics, restorations, and appliances to meet patient needs, ensuring optimal fit, function, and aesthetics. Your expertise will support our clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care through high-quality laboratory work.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate dental restorations such as crowns, implant crowns bridges, and orthodontic appliances using various materials and techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to interpret prescriptions and ensure accurate production of dental prostheses.
  • Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to design restorations with precision and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed medical documentation and records of laboratory procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all laboratory processes.
  • Conduct quality control checks using tools like micrometers to verify dimensions and fit of dental components.
  • Stay updated on advances in dental fabrication methods, materials, and industry standards to enhance laboratory practices.

Skills

  • Extensive laboratory experience in dental fabrication, including working with various restorative materials.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, digital imaging, and other computer-aided design tools used in dentistry.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging relevant to prosthetic design.
  • Ability to interpret dental prescriptions accurately and translate them into precise laboratory work.
  • Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic for documentation purposes.
  • Understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a clinical setting.
  • Experience with dental office operations, including chairside assisting and patient assessment when necessary.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
