Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Office Front Desk Manager to lead the front office operations of a busy dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will oversee patient scheduling, billing, insurance processing, and administrative support, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out. Duties
- Manage daily front desk operations including patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and administrative support using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Supervise front office staff, providing training, performance feedback, and team leadership to ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
- Oversee billing processes, insurance claims submission, and follow-up to maximize revenue cycle management in compliance with managed care and HIPAA regulations
- Handle financial management tasks such as budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and fiscal reporting to support practice sustainability
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and ensure adherence to acute care protocols when necessary
- Implement human resources policies related to staffing, scheduling, and employee development within the medical office environment
- Monitor clinic performance metrics, utilization management data, and quality assurance procedures aligned with JCAHO standards
- Ensure all administrative activities comply with healthcare laws including HIPAA privacy rules and medical records management
Experience
- Proven experience managing a dental or medical office environment with a strong background in healthcare management or clinic administration
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading front office teams in a fast-paced setting
- Extensive knowledge of dental office systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR platforms like Epic or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue cycle processes in healthcare settings
- Prior experience handling medical administrative support functions such as insurance claims processing, coding, and billing practices aligned with managed care standards
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations such as JCAHO standards
- Experience working in hospital or acute care environments is advantageous but not required; veterinary or other healthcare experience can be valuable for diverse clinical settings
