Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Dental Office Front Desk/Assistant Floater to join our dynamic dental team. This role is essential in providing seamless patient care, ensuring efficient office operations, and supporting clinical staff across various dental specialties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop comprehensive experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes while maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist clinical staff with chairside duties including taking vital signs, medical documentation, and preparing patients for procedures such as X-ray imaging or 3D scanning.
- Support front desk operations by handling phone inquiries, confirming appointments, and processing payments efficiently.
- Facilitate infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment for both patients and staff.
- Coordinate with dental professionals on procedures involving general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in sterilization procedures following infection control standards.
- Provide assistance with four-handed dentistry practices by passing instruments and supporting chairside activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, with familiarity in dental assisting and reception duties.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills tailored to pediatric dentistry and general patient interactions; experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
