Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and ensure smooth administrative workflows within the office. Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Softdent.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments efficiently, coordinating with dental staff to optimize patient flow.
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical histories while ensuring adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Manage patient records and documentation accurately within EMR systems, including medical records and medical coding.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, appointment availability, and billing procedures.
- Assist with insurance claims processing and billing procedures to facilitate timely reimbursements.
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a dental receptionist or in a similar dental clinic administrative role.
- Proficiency with EMR systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation workflows.
