Dental Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and experience in dental office administration. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting the clinical team. The Dental Receptionist will manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient intake, and maintain accurate dental records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to a welcoming environment where patient care and administrative excellence are prioritized.

Hours: Tues 8am-5pm, Wed 11 am to 8 pm, Thur 11 am to 8 pm, Fri 8 am-2pm

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, ensuring accurate billing processes.
  • Collect payments and perform collections efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Manage patient records by updating and reviewing documentation within Eaglesoft
  • Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and updating dental records with accurate information.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and ensure timely patient flow.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and dental documentation, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies to promote an efficient work environment.

Desired Skills

  • Extensive experience with dental office management software including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and coding
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy for data entry tasks.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette for handling inquiries and scheduling calls.
  • Ability to review documentation accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced dental clinic environment.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology enhances efficiency in this role.
