Dental Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our private dental practice. We are a one dentist, boutique style office with a caring and friendly staff. Our priority is to serve our community of patients with the best dental care as well as treat them like family. The ideal candidate must be passionate about the field and helping others. We need someone who is laser focused on their job duties and takes the time to assist our patients and other staff members as needed. You will be responsible for time management, sense of urgency to tasks, and being reliable. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with dental terminology, software (Dentrix Ascend) and, a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Must have dental experience. Office Hours: Mon/Tues: 7:45am-5pm and 3 Fridays per month 7:45am-1pm.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
  • Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix Ascend
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification
  • Collect payments and send electronic claims
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries
  • Ensure consents and treatment plans have been signed prior to treatment
  • Assist with appointment reminders, rescheduling, and follow-up calls
  • Recall coordination and ensuring hygiene schedule is confirmed and full
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members regarding pertinent information

Skills

  • Proven experience in dental office administration, including front desk responsibilities and assisting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, and insurance verification processes
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management systems
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse patient population effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
  • Time management skills is a must
  • Social Media posts and page maintenance

We are looking for an individual that will be the right fit with our values, staff, and philosophy. We are easy going, patient by the hour type of boutique office. Our vibe is very peaceful and looking for someone with the same energy.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
