You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, medical documentation, and insurance processes while supporting clinical procedures with professionalism and precision. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and schedule appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix Ascends.
- Manage patient check-in/check-out processes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare treatment rooms, assist with four-handed dentistry techniques, and support dentists during procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Record vital signs, medical history, and dental terminology accurately in medical records; assist with medical coding as needed.
- Handle insurance claims processing, verify coverage, and communicate with patients regarding billing or appointment needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards; support dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting and anatomy knowledge application.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical coding ensures accurate record keeping and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, dental assisting techniques—including chairside assisting—and infection control protocols is required.
- Strong understanding of dental procedures across specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics enhances patient support capabilities.
