Dental Schedule Coordinator

Duties

  • Manage daily dental appointment scheduling using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms like Meditech and Epic.
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks utilizing systems like Athenahealth, Meditech, or other EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
  • Conduct insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and coordinate with insurance providers to facilitate smooth billing processes.
  • Handle patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history, updating records, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure proper reimbursement.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering multi-line phone systems professionally, managing appointment rescheduling, and addressing patient inquiries with care and clarity.
  • Support front desk operations through clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing medical records efficiently.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop care plans and ensure accurate documentation review for all patient interactions.
  • Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a dental office setting or medical clinic environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms; experience with Epic or Meditech is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and health information management practices.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills; familiarity with multi-line phone systems is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in medical administrative support or front desk roles within healthcare settings is desirable.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
