Dentist - Role Summary

The Dentist plays a critical role in restoring and maintaining oral health for patients receiving inpatient behavioral health care. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment, this position provides both preventive and restorative dental services to individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental evaluations, preventive services, and treatment planning

  • Provide general dental care, including routine and emergency treatment

  • Conduct oral examinations and deliver restorative services, including:

    • Fillings and restorations

    • Endodontic procedures

    • Non-surgical extractions of teeth and roots

    • Prosthetics and periodontal treatment

  • Prescribe and recommend medications as appropriate for dental treatment

  • Provide clinical supervision and operational oversight of the dental clinic

  • Refer patients to medical or dental specialists as clinically indicated

  • Interpret and apply applicable federal regulations related to dental programs to ensure compliance

  • Maintain accurate patient records and prepare reports evaluating patient progress

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams to support holistic patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited school of dentistry

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing dentistry

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Washington
