Dentist - Role Summary
The Dentist plays a critical role in restoring and maintaining oral health for patients receiving inpatient behavioral health care. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment, this position provides both preventive and restorative dental services to individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental evaluations, preventive services, and treatment planning
Provide general dental care, including routine and emergency treatment
Conduct oral examinations and deliver restorative services, including:
Fillings and restorations
Endodontic procedures
Non-surgical extractions of teeth and roots
Prosthetics and periodontal treatment
Prescribe and recommend medications as appropriate for dental treatment
Provide clinical supervision and operational oversight of the dental clinic
Refer patients to medical or dental specialists as clinically indicated
Interpret and apply applicable federal regulations related to dental programs to ensure compliance
Maintain accurate patient records and prepare reports evaluating patient progress
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams to support holistic patient care
Required Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited school of dentistry
Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing dentistry
Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Washington
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in inpatient, institutional, or behavioral health care settings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Interest in collaborative, team-based care models
Commitment to serving individuals with complex health or behavioral health needs
